Considering the benefits in terms of psychological well-being of active participation in artistic activities, namely music, and corresponding to the interest expressed by several employees of the University of Madeira, the academic community was invited to participate in the development of the working group that aimed to create the UMa Choir, made up of students, teachers and technical and administrative staff of UMa and artistically guided by Maestrina Maria dos Anjos, with more than 30 years of choral experience. In April 2024, the UMa Choir became part of the activities of the University of Madeira’s Culture Council, thus finding support for its affirmation as a space for promoting psychological well-being and developing its artistic quality.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the members of the Choir, whose talent, dedication and collaborative spirit have been fundamental to the success of the group with voices that come together in harmony, creating moments of inspiration and joy for all those who have the opportunity to hear it.
