The creation of the Cultural Council is a response to the need to develop a consistent and continuous cultural strategy at the University of Madeira. It thus aims at a more direct intervention in the cultural life of the Region, guided by reflection and stimulation of critical sense, and in permanent dialogue with the community fabric to which the University is closely linked.

Places of Culture
“Places of Culture” are spaces for dialogue, experimentation, debate and exchange of knowledge. In said spaces, culture takes place extending the boundaries of the academy and actively participating with the local community. They are organised into ‘Laboratories’ and their respective centres and ‘Projects’.
Project Proposal Submission!
The Cultural Council invites the entire academic community and the surrounding community to present their proposals for activities, projects or actions to be carried out with the support, collaboration or promotional support of the Cultural Council/University of Madeira.
