The University Cinema Club is an alternative to the commercial and popular cinema sessions, as well as an alternative to individual and isolated screening, at home, through more conventional means (television) or new technologies (internet). What we offered was a “public” space for sharing and reflecting on cinema as a cultural object. For this reason, the sessions were followed by a debate open to all, with specialized guests. The films chosen always had the common thread that brought them together in a coherent and problematizing theme.
